covid-19 update - April 28th

Hi Everyone, we hope that you and your families continue to be well (and sane) during these challenging times.

As the weather begins to warm (at last!), you may recall that our softball season was scheduled to begin within the next two weeks. Unfortunately, due to our current COVID-19 situation, this will not be the case. We have been closely monitoring updates from our Federal and Provincial governments as well as baseball/softball governing organizations.

At this time, it appears that all in person sports activities will continue to be suspended until at least the end of May. We continue to be hopeful that the approved path back to regular activities will allow us to still have a partial season this summer. Our priority will always be a safe and positive environment for all of our players and their families. With that in mind, we will continue to monitor the situation including information from these governing bodies and provide updates on a regular basis.

We greatly appreciate your patience as we all navigate these unexpected and unusual times. We would like to ask that you continue to hang with us until we can provide more certainty about our season. If this is not possible, please reply back to Cory and I and we will be in touch to arrange a refund.

Additionally, for those that registered for the Blue Jays Camp scheduled to occur in May, you can email to request a refund for this camp.

All our best

IMPORTANT covid-19 update

These are challenging times right now. We all hope you and your families are safe and with appropriate precautions, stay that way.

Our ball season does not kick off for nearly two months, and we continue to prepare for it, looking forward to warmer times and the pastime we all love. Registration is still open and we continue to welcome new and returning players. That being said, NLGSA does have some current events which are being impacted by the current COVID-19 situation

  1. Indoor clinics. Our Tuesday and Wednesday evening clinics are cancelled for the time being. We will re-assess and provide an update once schools have re-opened.
  2. Saturday’s Uniform Try On (March 21st). This try on date has been cancelled. For those that were not able to make our first try one date, we would like to offer two solutions:
      • If you played with us last season, please use the uniform you already have and estimate sizing needed for this season based on that.
      • Please note your sizing and then send your daughter’s name and sizing information (shirt and pants) to:

We will continue to monitor the situation surrounding COVID-19 and promise to provide further updates as more information is available or the situation changes.

We wish everyone continued good health.

Cory Claypole, Convenor, NLGSA
